Transvulcania reaches the high street

The event will set up a promotional stand, included in the programme of the Día Blanco (Wakeful Day) of Los Llanos de Aridane and again at the Noche de las Estrellas of Santa Cruz de La Palma the following weekend (Saturday 13th of December). After these initial tests, and starting in 2015, the official Transvulcania products will become available in shops throughout the island.

The Councilor for Sports, Mariano Hernández Zapata, considered this initiative as «one of the many steps taken to achieve a more self-sustainable Transvulcania. The demand is pretty strong among the hundreds of visiting participants as well as among their companions and friends. With this line of products we aim to quench it and in addition to generate some extra funds for the race”.
Cotton T-shirts and hoodies with the official styles and designs of the event, as well as pins, keyrings and embroidered patches are part of the catalogue. So-called technical clothing items (made in breathable fabrics) and foldable water pouches are also included, with hikers and trail runners in mind.
After these test runs, one on every side of the island, the official Transvulcania products will be commercialised in 2015 through partner local shops, which will then benefit from the strength of the brand. It is nonetheless worth mentioning that the online shop, available in 11 languages at www.transvulcania.com/shop , was officialy launched in August.
