Transvulcania’s Vertical Kilometre repeats this year in the prestigious World Circuit

The International Skyrunning Federation (ISF) has published the international calendar, which includes only eleven races in six different countries, including the Transvulcania’s Vertical Kilometre.

The Transvulcania’s VK 2018, which has a route of 7,6 kilometres, maintains its global level, as it was included in the second edition of the World Circuit, promoted by the International Skyrunning Federation (ISF). The popularity of this mountain race was decisive for the creation of this international calendar, which by the way has reduced the number of races, in order to do it more competitive and exclusive. This guarantees that all international specialists in this modality will, at least, consider the option of participating at the Transvulcania’s VK.

The sports counsellor of La Palma, Ascención Rodríguez, celebrated the inclusion of the Transvulcania into this new ISF Championship and mentioned that “this is a new acknowledgement for all the persons and institutions that make possible every edition of the Transvulcania”.

The Transvulcania’s Vertical Kilometre is going to take place the next 10th of May, and it is going to start in “Puerto de Tazacorte”. The route includes beautiful places like the “GR-131”, the viewpoint of “El Time (Tijarafe) or the viewpoint of “Piedra del Guanche”.
