The Swedish runner of team Salomon, who won last two editions of the Transvulcania, is going to be again in La Palma at the tenth edition of the race
The Swedish runner Ida Nilsson has confirmed that she is going to take part at the Ultramarathon of the Transvulcania Naviera Armas 2018. Nilsson won the last two editions of the race in this modality, breaking the record of the circuit last year with a time of 08:04:17. This time, at her third participation, her main rival for winning the race is going to be the American runner Megan Kimmel, who also is part of team Salomon.
Ida Nilsson had a fantastic season in 2017, winning many races all around the world. She won races like the Ultra Yading Skyrunning Festival, the Swissalpine Davos K78, the Fjällmaratonveckan Årefjällen Fjällmaraton 43K, the Vasaloppet Ultravasan 90 Km or the TNF Endurance Challenge California 50 Mile.
Ida Nilsson spoke with us about her experience at the Transvulcania last two years, and she commented that “it was an incredible sporting experience because of the beautiful landscapes, the route, the organization of the race and the Canarian fans, who supported us during the entire race”.
The sports counsellor of La Palma, Ascensión Rodríguez, highlighted “the great show we are going to live at the tenth edition of the Transvulcania with the two best runners of the world. Megan Kimmel and Ida Nilsson, both members of team Salomon, are going to fight for winning the most special edition that we have ever had until now”.
