Trail-star Tom Evans will run the Transvulcania Ultramarathon

It will be the first time that the British-native of the Adidas Terrex team will participate in the palm test


The Transvulcania Organization continues to unravel the cast of stars that will participate in the twelfth edition of the event. On this occasion, the participation of the British-native, Adidas Terrex team member, and one of the world´s top runners, Tom Evans, is confirmed for the first time.

This young man of barely 27 years has captured the attention of the public and media in the Marathon des Sables two years ago, of which he managed to get on the third drawer of the podium. At the 2018 Trail World Cup in Penyagolosa, he took home the bronze medal, while having barely any experience in the type of event.

His consecration would arrive last year in Chamonix, specifically in the CCC that was the race that consolidated him as one of the best runners on the planet. A manual race in which he knew how to keep Chinese Min Qi at bay until the finish line to register his name as winner of one of the UTMB events.

His level this season has remained very high. He´s reached several podiums in renowned American races such as Western States and Lake Sonoma, where he placed third in both.

His story is very particular. For several years, he served in the Welsh Guard. During this period he was stationed in Kenya and took advantage of the permits to go running to Iten, where many of the best Kenyan athletes of all-time train. There he began to sting the bug. Without a doubt, he is one of the runners many people´s eyes will be on to take home the victory in the Transvulcania Ultramarathon 2020.
