The official presentation of the elite runners with the traditional picture, the traditional visit to a banana plantation of the Plátano de Canarias, the Transvulcania Kids-Junior Obra Social La Caixa and the classical round table of the athletes focused the attention the day before the great battle
The Transvulcania Naviera Armas 2019 fulfils its obligatory appointments from every year. The day before the great sport battle, the organization of the event held different traditional acts which could not be celebrated before.
The day started with the traditional family-picture of the elite runners who are going to compete tomorrow at the Transvulcania Naviera Armas. The sponsors of every category were present at the pool of the hotel H10 Taburiente Playa, in Los Cancajos. After that, the activity continued in one of the banana plantations near to the hotel, which is the headquarter of the event. At the banana plantation, a group of runners visited the facility and received a talk about the star product in the Canary Islands, the Plátano de Canarias, which gave his own name to one of the categories, the Half Marathon.
In the afternoon, there were two very important appointments. At the Refugio de El Pilar, the Transvulcania Kids-Junior Obra Social La Caixa took place. There were different types of circuits, where the children had the chance to show their abilities. One of the most beautiful moments of the event was when the three-times World Champion Luis Alberto Hernando, winner of the Ultra and Half Marathon of the Transvulcania and second in the Vertical Kilometre celebrated yesterday, appeared with one of his sons and ran on one of the circuits made for the kids.
The day finished with another traditional appointment, the round table of the elite runners of the Transvulcania. The act was led by the journalists Jaime González and Albert Jorquera, where almost twenty athletes gave their impressions about the race of tomorrow.
