Eli Gordón sets Transvulcania Marathon as one of her main goals for 2020

The Salomon team runner confirms her presence on the starting line of the Spanish Trail Championship

The Transvulcania Organization continues to add great athletes for its twelfth edition. On this occasion, it confirms the presence of the Catalan runner of the Salomon Eli Gordón team, for the Marathon distance that will be the Spanish Trail Championship (RFEA) for the first time.

Gordón is already known to all palm trees since in 2018 he was second in the Transvulcania Half Marathon. If we take a look at last year, the Catalan runner closed the season with a meritorious 9 place in the WMRA 2019 World Cup, held at Villa La Angostura (Argentina), thus adding points for the Spanish women’s team to take home the Silver.

To this we must add three fifths in mythical tests such as the Sky Pirineu, Pikes Peak Marathon or the Marathon du Mont Blanc. With this record in the last season, Gordón is one of the most brilliant athletes of the moment in the trail running although she has only been fully dedicated to this modality for about 5 years. Before running, her sport was karate, where she even became champion in the World Cup of the Confederations within the specialty of katas.

With the confirmation of the presence of this runner in the Transvulcania Marathon, a list of favorites to take the title of Trail Champion of Spain begins to be formed, a list that will be gradually revealed by the Transvulcania Organization as the date of the mythical palm test approaches.
