The organization has opened a reserve list to cover possible withdrawals from this amazing event
Each of the race numbers of the Transvulcania 2020 Ultramarathon, organized by the public company Sodepal with the support of different areas of El Cabildo de La Palma, already has a name against it. A thousand athletes have filled the places with half a year still to go before Isla Bonita becomes the nerve center of world trail running.
Adventurers immersed in this unforgettable challenge, which will take place on May 9, can now check the list of registered runners through the official Transvulcania website, in the registrations section.
The organization guarantees that the 1000 runners meet the requirement of having completed a mountain race of at least 40 kilometers in the 18 months prior to the event, which guarantees the physical conditions necessary to try to finish one of the most attractive and demanding races on the international calendar.
However, for those who have not been able to complete their registration, Transvulcania have created a waiting list, maintained within the prestigious Migu Run Skyrunner World Series circuit. This willl be necessary, as experience shows that drop outs due to different circumstances in the months prior to the event are not unusual. In addition, it is free to be on the waiting list, until the place is confirmed. Of course, the requirements remain unchanged.
The Transvulcania Ultramarathon will be more demanding and, above all, more respectful of the National Park of Caldera de Taburiente in 2020, being able to meet each of the technical parameters established for the number of participants, so the natural beauty of La Palma isn’t disrupted, a commitment that must be collective.
The Transvulcania organization also reports that the registration for the Marathon is about to close, with the most demanding route in its history, to give added value to what each and every one of its 600 participants are able to achieve. In addition, the race will host the Trail of Spain Championship of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).
Registration for the Half Marathon and the Vertical Kilometer, which remains within the world circuit of the specialty of the International Skyrunning Federation, remain open. These two hard races, with no room for rest, (one more explosive born at the beach, the other longer between volcanoes), complete an exclusive calendar in this corner of the Atlantic.
